Montessori's timeless principles

A child shaping material with their hands at a Montessori practical-life table

What the hand does, the mind remembers

Children learn experientially. Real materials in small hands build understanding that lasts a lifetime.

A Montessori classroom with low wooden tables and child-height shelves

Mixed-age classrooms

Children learn naturally in a mixed-age environment, where younger learners are inspired by older peers, and older children strengthen their understanding through gentle leadership. This daily exchange nurtures empathy, patience, respect, and quiet confidence, helping every child grow at their own pace within a caring community.

At your child's unique pace

Every child develops in their own time. By following your child's natural rhythm rather than a one-size-fits-all schedule, we nurture a genuine love of learning, build confidence, and encourage lasting independence that grows from within.

Rooted in heritage, future focused

Our children grow with a strong foundation in Arabic and English and local traditions while developing a broader understanding of the world. This balanced approach nurtures children who are grounded in the local tradition while embracing the opportunities of a global future.

Why we started AlMayameen

Our founder, Aya Abuhassan

AlMayameen Montessori

Rooted in tradition. Equipped with Montessori.

AlMayameen Montessori was founded with a simple belief: children should never have to choose between wisdom of their heritage and an education that gives them a global perspective.

We created an environment where Arabic, Quran, and Islamic values are woven naturally into an authentic Montessori education. Here, children are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow with confidence in a setting built on respect, independence, and deep learning. From our carefully prepared classrooms and peaceful outdoor spaces to our mixed-age communities and hands-on learning materials, every part of AlMayameen Montessori reflects one purpose: to nurture capable, compassionate children who learn at their own pace and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Questions parents ask before they visit

What ages do you take?

We are an early childhood centre. We take children ages 1-6. Tell us your child's age on the form and we will guide you to the right classroom.

Will my child learn Arabic and English?

Yes. Classical Arabic and English are part of every school day, not as scheduled lessons. AlMayameen children learn both languages through all their daily lessons and interactions.

How are Islamic values part of the day?

Quran, prayer, and Islamic values are woven into daily life, including learning and using a child-sized wudu and prayer areas. Your child grows up confident in their values and heritage.

What is a mixed-age classroom?

Children of different ages learn together in one prepared environment. Younger children learn from older ones, older students practice leadership, and your child progresses at their own pace.

My child has never been to nursery. Will they settle?

Yes, sometimes faster than parents expect. We use a gentle, supported start so you and your child feel at home in the first few weeks.

How is Montessori children's house different from other kindergartens?

In Children's Montessori house, your child chooses and leads their own learning with real, hands-on materials. It builds independence and a real love of learning.
